Nature’s Superheroes School Programs for ECE to Grade 12

Nature’s Superheroes: Life at the Limits, a new exhibition opening January 27, 2024 at RBG, offers a fascinating glimpse of breathtaking diversity, the natural world and the power of natural selection to shape exceptional responses to the challenges, and opportunities, of life on Earth.

Superheroes School Programs

ECE / Kindergarten

Super Senses

Animals (including humans) have developed senses that all them to survive in the wild. Students will discover about the five basic senses using stories, songs, discovery stations, and a tour of Nature’s Superheroes exhibit.

Grades 1 to 8

Grade 1 & 2: Amazing Adaptions

Students will discover basic needs and unique adaptations that animals use to survive in the wild. Explore fascinating animal characteristics through games, activities, and exploration of the Nature’s Superheroes exhibit.

Grade 2 to 7: Artist’s Assemble

Creativity abounds in this program, as students become the designers of their very own superhero. This program includes a visit to the Nature’s Superheroes exhibit for inspiration from the many unique adaptations of plants and animals in nature.

Grade 3: Powerful Plants

All plants grow, change, and adapt to the environment around them. Students will examine the characteristics and needs of plants through games, discussions, and a guided exploration of our Nature’s Superheroes exhibit.

Grade 4 to 7: Survival of the Fittest

Habitats are home to diverse species. Through engaging activities and exploring the Nature’s Superheroes exhibit, students will how animals adapt to survive in various habitats, and the importance of preserving biodiversity.

Self-Guided School Visits (K to 12)

Through a self-guided experience, discover how animal and plant adaptations provide them with superpowers to survive in their natural environment. Classes will also be able to visit the Mediterranean Garden.

A teacher’s guide to the exhibit will be provided with the trip confirmation details. Teachers booking a self-guided visit can sign up for a free onsite orientation session from 9 to 10 a.m. on February, March 2, or April 6.
