A Message from our CEO

Welcome to RBG at Home, our way of helping you connect to nature through these challenging times.

Spending time in contact with the plant world reduces stress levels and supports human wellness, and though our gardens and trails are temporary closed, we know it’s critical to continue bringing you the beauty of RBG and the healing power of plants and nature. Spring is on our doorstep; looking out the window I see tree buds swelling and the crocus are already open. As the season forges ahead, RBG at Home aims to bring the outdoors indoors and provide you and your family with a touch of nature through a weekly lineup of videos, interactive online programs for students and teachers, family activity ideas, gardening hints, adult learning and more.

Visit us online often to stay in touch with RBG and see spring unfold! These extraordinary circumstances shine a light on the importance of the green world to all of us. Research shows the many ways that plants support human wellness, including the role that they can play in cleaning the air in our homes and communities, providing nutritional support for our immune system, reducing stress indicators and enhancing mental health. Like everyone, we’re facing many challenges but we know we must continue in our mission to connect people, plants and this special place for the purpose of nurturing and preserving healthy growing life on our planet.

We appreciate your continued support; it is allowing us to move forward and support children’s education during this difficult time by offering content which includes materials for students, teachers, families and lifelong learners. With the help of an anonymous donor, we now have an RBG COVID 19 Sustainability Fund to help us create and deliver content for RBG at Home. You’ll find donation buttons in the RBG at Home pages, and with our donor’s help, each donation to this fund will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. This means that your donation will have double the impact!

We know that this is a challenging time for everyone. If you are able to make a donation today it will help us create and deliver quality educational content that helps children, parents, teachers and lifelong learners keep in touch with nature during this unprecedented time.

Stay well and be safe. We look forward to seeing you at the Gardens again soon.
