Giving Program Options
Mark Runciman Tribute Fund
After 36 years with Royal Botanical Gardens, Mark Runciman, CEO, has announced he is retiring on December 31, 2020. Mark has led RBG through a period of renewal and growth with many new developments, which transformed RBG to a year-round attraction. His latest accomplishment and perhaps his greatest lasting legacy is the recent development of RBG’s 25-year Master Plan. Mark has made a big impact at RBG and in the community and will be missed by all.
To celebrate Mark’s legacy, RBG has created the Mark Runciman Tribute Fund. The fund will support RBG during this difficult pandemic year and focus on RBG’s vital projects such as plant propagation, aquatic revitalization, habitat protection and RBG’s many conservation and education programs, including our new RBG at Home digital education program for children and educators.
Princess Point Restoration Project
With your support, we will build a new, accessible observation platform and replant native species to protect and restore this fragile environment. The new platform combined with trail upgrades will allow visitors to appreciate one of the top five lookouts in Cootes Paradise without trampling plants and eroding the shoreline.
Supporting RBG During COVID-19
You and your loved ones rely on plants for food and the air we breathe. Plants power many aspects of our economy and define and sustain our planet’s ecosystems and habitats. Beyond these undeniable practical benefits for life, plants accomplish something more. They bring meaning and inspiration to life.
By supporting Royal Botanical Gardens, you ensure that Canada’s largest botanical garden remains an essential place to help people connect and care for plants and nature.
Growing Up Green
You can help us Plant Seeds for Life! With a donation to Growing up Green, you can ensure an active, vibrant and healthy future for the children of today and tomorrow through our horticultural and conservation projects and award-winning educational programming.
You can be a Green Angel to a child in need today! Your donation will provide the helping hands that guide disadvantaged, special needs and new Canadian children to that magical place where they can explore, learn and let their imagination grow in a safe environment – the natural world of Royal Botanical Gardens.
Tribute and Memorial Program
Tribute gifts are a meaningful way to cherish today’s events and yesterday’s memories. Is there someone in your life that you would like to honour, celebrate or commemorate, or is there a special occasion for which you would like to say, “you are in my thoughts,” like a birthday, anniversary or a shared memory? Let someone know that you are thinking of them by making a donation to Royal Botanical Gardens.
Legacy Giving Program
Royal Botanical Gardens depends on its members, donors and volunteers to continue our important charitable work. Our Legacy Program is a way to show your commitment now, without affecting your income today. Legacy gifts can take many forms: a bequest, charitable gift annuity, RRSP/RRIF or life insurance policy. Each of these options can provide a significant tax advantage and RBG recommends donors seek legal and financial planning advice when making such a gift.
