More to Do, Naturally
As Canada’s largest botanical garden, Royal Botanical Gardens is your connection to nature all year long.
Set your sights on our 27 km of nature trails, recharge next to breathtaking blooms, and celebrate with special arts, educational, and dining experiences.
By bringing together people and plants RBG has endless ways for visitors to learn and grow. Our gardens and trails are ever-changing, and there’s always more to see, naturally.
The Gardens
Royal Botanical Gardens is home to four cultivated Garden Areas and an Arboretum. Garden Admission or Membership applies.
Hendrie Park
Our largest cultivated garden area, Hendrie Park has something for everyone. Home of the Rose Garden, Turner Pavilion Teahouse, Seeing the Invisible, Healing Garden, and more.
Rock Garden
Following a significant rejuvenation, the David Braley and Nancy Gordon Rock Garden reopened in 2016 to embrace sustainable trends in garden design and management while respecting the integrity of its heritage setting. Bold swaths of brilliant perennials provide sweeps of inspiring colour and texture throughout all seasons.
Laking Garden
Closed for the season
Set on a fertile terraced plain that was once a market garden, Laking Garden is home to RBG’s herbaceous perennial collections. The belvedere at the end of the entrance path offers a panoramic view of the entire garden, especially spectacular in early to mid-June when our iris and peony collections shine.
RBG Centre
Start your visit to Royal Botanical Gardens at RBG Centre, home to many special programs and events where you will find both indoor and outdoor displays, Shop at the Gardens gift shop, the Greenhouse Café, and Natural Playground.
Arboretum
RBG’s Arboretum is more like an English landscape park than a garden. As its name implies, this is the place where you can see a wide variety of trees and other woody plants up close. The Arboretum provides trailhead access leading to Cootes Paradise.
Things to Do
There’s always something new to experiences in the gardens! While some experiences are included in Garden Admission or Membership, others require separate tickets and pre-registration. Visit the individual event pages to learn more.

More than Just a Pretty Place
For eight decades, Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) has connected people to the plant world. We do this not only to awaken people to plants’ beauty, diversity and necessity, but also to serve as a beacon for an increasingly urgent movement to preserve plant species and habitats and, by extension, our planet.
With a donation to Growing up Green, you can ensure an active, vibrant and healthy future for the children of today and tomorrow through our horticultural and conservation projects.
