Speaker Series: Update on Local Honeybees

June 20

7 to 8:30 p.m.; RBG Centre

In 2001, registered beekeeper George Scott found Niagara Beeway, an organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of Niagara’s honeybee populations. George’s talk reviews how Niagara Beeway put forward evidence showing the toxic effects of systemic insecticides on honeybees and other beneficial insects, and contributed to the efforts that saw new regulations. George shares national data and the status of the health of our local honeybees.

The Spirits of Paradise

What if you could travel back in time? What would you see and who would you meet? Royal Botanical Gardens, in association with The Players’ Guild of Hamilton, presents The Spirits of Paradise. Directed by David Dayler, this 1.5 hour moving theatre experience will help you understand how this landscape has changed over the last two centuries through the eyes of people who have influenced its history. Pre-registration is required for this time-ticketed event!
