Event Description

Celebrate Pride Month at RBG with a Pride family picnic! Come out Sunday, June 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to RBG’s Arboretum for a family-friendly gathering in partnership with Queer with Kids.

Bring your own picnic and stay to play. Join us for family fun activities like a guided hike, button-making, scavenger hunt, face-painting and more! Members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community are welcome, as well as families, friends and allies.

Tickets

Admission to the picnic is FREE; a $10/vehicle parking fee applies at the Arboretum.

Pre-registration is encouraged to help us best plan for this event, though walk-ups are welcome.

Directions / Parking

The Arboretum is located at 16 Old Guelph Road, Hamilton ON.

A $10 flat parking rate applies, purchasable as part of your original ticket registration upon arrival.

Parking is available in 3 lots: Rasberry House (north), Parking Circle (central) and Entry Gate (east). Your parking reservation does not guarantee a space in any specific lot; you will be directed upon arrival. See the map above to familiarize yourself with the locations, and the distance to various collections. Accessible parking spaces are available in the Parking Circle.

Arrival and Event Length

You may arrive at any time from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and stay as long as you’d like!

This event will be held under the covered pavilion.

Did you know the Arboretum is one of RBG’s major trailheads? Consider enjoying an extended hike before or after the event; Arboretum closes at dusk.

Weather

Come dressed for the weather! This event will be held rain or shine. Join us under the covered pavilion.

Washrooms

Gender neutral portable washrooms are available at the Arboretum.

Seating / Picnic Tables

Picnic tables available under the covered pavilion, or bring a blanket to spread out on the grass!

Picnic / Food Guidelines

Please pack-out or properly dispose of any waste. Outdoor cooking is not permitted in any of RBG’s garden areas.

Nut Safe Policy: To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visiting families, please ensure that your picnics are free of peanuts, nuts, nut products and traces of nuts.

Pets

Leashed dogs are permitted at this experience. Please be responsible and clean up after your dog. Dogs must remain on-leash at all times.
