All Outdoor Garden Areas Open to the Public Beginning June 14
Beginning Monday, June 14, as part of Step One of the Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen, Royal Botanical Garden’s outdoor garden areas will be open to the general public. These areas include David Braley and Nancy Gordon Rock Garden, Hendrie Park, the Arboretum, Laking Garden, RBG trails and trailhead parking.
The safety of our visitors and staff is RBG’s top priority and as such, all garden areas will operate with reduced capacity as per the Roadmap to Reopen guidelines. RBG Centre and the Rock Garden Visitor Centre will be open only as a through-way for access to outdoor garden areas. Indoor building amenities and areas such as the Mediterranean Garden and the Greenhouse Café remain temporarily closed to the public.
Garden area hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (last admission at 7 p.m.), 7 days a week. 2021 admission rates apply. For everyone’s safety, we ask that all visitors are attentive to directional and social distancing signage while making their way through the Gardens.
As an early preview, Royal Botanical Gardens will be opening remaining outdoor garden areas (Hendrie Park and Rock Garden) to RBG members only, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Friday, June 11 to Sunday, June 13. Proof of membership is required. The Arboretum, trails and Laking Garden will remain open to the general public during this time.
As part of the reopening, Shop @ The Gardens will be open in the Camilla and Peter Dalglish Atrium with reduced visitor capacity, a sanitizing station and distance markers to ensure safe shopping.
Some RBG programs will resume in person where they can be done safely and within restrictions. Please visit Things To Do for a full list of courses and programs.
The safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers is of the utmost importance to Royal Botanical Gardens. We will continue to follow advice from public health officials and provide further updates as they become available.
