Garden Admission

Royal Botanical Gardens is Canada’s largest, with over 2,100 acres of gardens and nature sanctuary that spans Hamilton and Burlington Ontario. Garden Admission applies for daytime access to RBG’s formal garden areas (note: admission not required to hike the nature trails, where parking fees apply).

RBG Members have access to unlimited daytime garden visits year round! Learn more at rbg.ca/membership.

Garden Admission is separate from access gained through ticketed special events.

Join us for Bloomland in Oz! Along with access to our floral showcase, these tickets include access to all garden areas open on the date of your visit (see rbg.ca/hours for details).

These tickets do NOT include parking at RBG trailheads or access to all RBG events. See the full events calendar for information on admission requirements for specific events and activities.

Admission Partnerships & Programs

Partner programs tickets are only available for purchase in-person. Most programs are not applicable to exhibits or special events, including Bloomland in Oz.

Access 2 Card

Access 2 Cardholders purchasing garden admission tickets receive one free admission for their support person. For online tickets, purchase admissions for the cardholder, and the support person will be accommodated at the door.

American Horticultural Society

Current memberships of the American Horticultural Society or from a garden participating in their Reciprocal Admissions Program (RAP) receive free Garden Admission to Royal Botanical Gardens.

Display your card upon entry alongside valid government I.D. to redeem.

Available for garden admission during regular hours only; does not apply for any special ticketed events or parking.

OCT (Ontario College of Teachers)

Effective September 2, teachers are invited to join us for a private showcase of our School Programs followed by complimentary garden admission on that day. These exclusive events will be held twice a year, with dates announced in late fall and spring.

Note: Daily complimentary admission for OCT cardholders is no longer in effect.

What is included in Garden Admission?

Full Garden Admission includes access to all RBG’s formal garden areas open on the day of your visit. Depending on the date of your visit, this may include:

Single Garden Admission provides access to Rock Garden only.

NOTE: Not all RBG experiences are covered by garden admission; most events and programs require specific tickets, and in some cases, are timed-ticketed. See the individual offerings at rbg.ca/events for details.

Where can I purchase Garden Admission?

Garden Admission tickets are available for purchase online, or at the entrance of any garden area (RBG Centre, Rock Garden).

Note: pre-registration may be required for time-ticketed experiences including Bloomland in Oz

Do I need garden admission to access the trails?

Garden admission is not required for hiking RBG’s trails; parking fees do apply at all RBG trailheads.

Please note: time-ticketed parking reservations are required for visiting the Arboretum during peak bloom season. See rbg.ca/arboretum for details.

Do I require garden admission tickets if I have a membership?

For a garden admission visit during regular operating hours, RBG Members simply present their Membership Card and a valid photo ID upon entry to each garden area.

Any special event or time-ticketed visit does require a separate registration. See the details for the specific event or experience at rbg.ca/events. This includes access to RBG / Hendrie Park during Floral Showcase (Bloomland) experiences.
