Thanks to the support of our generous donors, RBG can provide the helping hands that guide disadvantaged, special needs and new Canadian children to a special place where they can let their imagination grow in a safe environment – the natural world of Royal Botanical Gardens.

The Green Angels Financial Assistance Program subsidizes admission passes, annual memberships, school and children’s programming and school transportation costs.

Apply for Financial Assistance

Applications for financial assistance are available for children whose families receive social assistance or whose total household income is below the poverty line for the city in which they live. Subsidies are also available for children with special needs and for children who are new to Canada. Children and youth are also referred to RBG from other community organizations that support families in need.

At this time, the Green Angels program is only able to provide subsidies to children in the areas of Hamilton and Halton due to limited financial resources.

What is the Green Angels Program?

The Green Angels Program is RBG’s first financial assistance program that provides the opportunity for children to get outdoors and fall in love with nature, regardless of their family’s financial situation.

Who is eligible to receive Green Angels subsidies?

Children whose families receive social assistance or whose total household income is below the poverty line for the city in which they live. Subsidies are also available for children with special needs and for children who are new to Canada.

Children and youth are also referred to RBG from other community organizations that support families in need.

How does one apply for subsidized programming through Green Angels?

To apply for Green Angels assistance please visit www.rbg.ca/subsidy and complete our electronic form. Once completed, please forward to jsheppard@rbg.ca.

When submitting your application, please be sure to include two consecutive social assistance forms or a copy of your most recent Notice of Assessment.

If you do not have access to email, please call 1-800-694-4769, ext. 293 to request a form to be mailed.

What RBG programs can I participate in through Green Angels?

Green Angels provides financial assistance for our children’s programs, day camps, school programs, admission fees and membership fees. Transportation is also covered for schools not able to afford busing.
