Member Parking Passes
- All active RBG members are distributed 2 types of parking passes:
- Plastic parking pass card (for the Arboretum)
- Paper rearview hang-tag (for all other locations)
- One of each is distributed per membership to the primary cardholder on file (the person who paid for the membership).
- Renewing members are asked to keep their parking pass card, as it will be renewed when your membership is renewed (please allow 5 business days for processing).
- Membership renewals and new purchases are best done in person at RBG Main Center, as you will receive your membership package immediately.
- Memberships purchased and renewed online, by mail, or by phone are subject to a 5-business-day processing time, plus mailing. Temporary parking passes and refunds on parking during this processing and mail time are not provided.
1: Paper Hang-Tag Parking Pass
(for most RBG lots)

- For use at any RBG lot where an automated parking arm is not in place, including:
- Cherry Hill Gate – access to Hendrie Valley Trails
- Princess Point – access to South Shore / Princess Point Trails
- Rock Chapel – access to Escarpment Property Trails
- Laking
- This is NOT valid at the Arboretum, where instead you will be required to swipe your plastic parking pass card for entry. Keep reading for more details.
- Replaced annually upon renewal; to receive your new hangtag right away, please visit RBG Centre in person to renew your membership during regular hours.
2: Plastic Parking Pass Card
(for the Arboretum)

- For accessing the Arboretum (16 Old Guelph Rd. Hamilton) using the automated parking gate system.
- Card is NOT replaced annually, should your membership full expire before renewing online, there is a 5-day processing time for the card to again become active.
- Always bring your card when visiting the Arboretum, it’s the only way to enter without payment.
- Easy entry and exit: Simply tap your card at both the entry and exit gates for access. You will not be able to tap out unless you have tapped in.
Plan on visiting the Arboretum during peak bloom in May? Reservations are required for select weekends.
How to use:
- Tap your parking card upon entry at the identified area for members – DO NOT TAKE A TICKET
- Enjoy your visit
- Tap your card upon exit
Note: Members must tap their card upon entry to be able to tap their card upon exit. When all parking spots are taken, the lot is recognized as FULL, and your parking pass card will not permit entry.

Key Details About Your Parking Passes
- Forgot your card? If you forget your parking pass, standard parking fees will apply. RBG employees will not open the gate for you, and a refund of parking fees will not be provided.
- Expiration and renewal: Your card is valid for the duration of your membership. Upon your membership renewal, we will reactivate for the new term of your membership. Please allow 5 business days for processing your renewal. For a faster renewal, please visit RBG Centre in person to renew your membership.
- Lost card? A $10 replacement fee will apply if your card is lost or misplaced.
- Parking is a benefit of membership and as such, is not transferable to guests on Plus Memberships. Guests are to pay for parking unless they arrive in a member’s vehicle.
