Located 1km away from RBG Centre and established in 1932, the historic Rock Garden stands as the proud birthplace of the Royal Botanical Gardens. Embracing sustainable trends in garden design, the Rock Garden inspires with its captivating colors and textures throughout all seasons. The Great Room, spanning 3,455 square feet, provides a versatile space ideal for weddings year-round at the Rock Garden.

The historic Rock Garden features two outdoor spaces for ceremonies and cocktail hour, the Upper Lawn and Courtyard, along with the stunning Great Room, which offers scenic views of the gardens for your reception.
What's Included
At RBG, every wedding is a seamless and unforgettable experience. When you book your wedding with RBG, you’ll enjoy 11 hours of venue access from 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM, giving you plenty of time to celebrate every moment, from setup to your grand send-off.
Your 11 hours of access provides the perfect balance of preparation, celebration, and reflection, ensuring every moment of your wedding day is seamless and unforgettable:
- Setup: 2 hours before the ceremony to bring your vision to life
- Ceremony: 1 hour in your chosen ceremony space
- Cocktail Hour: 1 hour to mingle, enjoy delicious bites, and begin your celebration in style.
- Reception: 6 hours of dining, dancing, and celebration
- Pack-Up: 1 hour to ensure everything is beautifully wrapped up
Please note: All items must be removed from the venue by 2:00 AM.
Additional Inclusions
When you book your wedding with RBG, your package also includes:
- Complimentary parking for you and your guests
- Up to 2 easels for signage or décor
- Full access to all RBG properties for you and your guests on your wedding day
Ceremony Spaces
Our ceremony venues are designed to create memorable moments:
- Rehearsal access: 60 minutes in your selected space
- Weather contingency: Move indoors to your reception space if needed
- White folding garden chairs (up to 100–250 guests, max, varies per location)
- Signing table with white linen (48” round) & 2 chairs
- Extra 48” round table with white linen for your DJ
- Power access for vendors (electrical access fees may apply for external or non-preferred vendors)
Reception Spaces
Celebrate in style with elegant reception amenities:
- Five high-top cocktail tables, styled with your choice of white or black linens for cocktail hour
- Round 62″ guest tables (max 8 per table) with white or black linens
- Choice of 6’ rectangular head table or sweetheart table, plus operational tables, with skirted white or black linens
- Standard banquet chairs (varies by location)
- Assorted mixed plants
- Setup, pack-down, and cleanup of all RBG-provided items
- White or black napkins

Public Garden Guest Access & Garden Spaces
- Outdoor areas at Royal Botanical Gardens remain open to the public during events until the posted closing time (subject to seasonal changes).
- Public Garden Guests may enjoy RBG’s public areas during operating hours on the day of your wedding.
- Guests arriving more than 30 minutes before the ceremony are welcome to explore the gardens.
Access Time and Event Time
At RBG, every wedding is designed to be a seamless and unforgettable experience. When you book your wedding with us, you’ll enjoy 11 hours of venue access from 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM, giving you ample time to celebrate every moment—from setup to your grand send-off.
Please note that the latest time to pack down and vacate the space is 2:00 AM, and any vendor deliveries or setup outside of your access time will also incur a $350 per hour charge.
Your 11 Hours of Access Time Include:
- Setup: 2 hours before the ceremony to bring your vision to life
- Ceremony: 1 hour in your chosen ceremony space
- Cocktail Hour: 1 hour in your chosen cocktail space
- Reception: 6 hours in your chosen reception space
- Pack-Up: 1 hour to ensure everything is beautifully wrapped up and removed from the space
Photography
Wedding clients at RBG receive a complimentary photography permit for their booked venue’s garden spaces. While the gardens remain open to the public during operating hours, your permit allows access to capture stunning photos in your chosen ceremony and reception spaces.
- Couples receive a photography permit from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, aligned with their venue access time.
- Photography is also permitted at any time within your booked venue space for the duration of your event.
Please note, permits do not provide exclusive access to the gardens; they apply to the public areas of the property.
Couples who do not have a wedding booked with RBG but would still like to take photos on RBG properties are required to book a photography permit.
Smoking
There is no smoking permitted anywhere on the RBG premises, including parking lots.
