Why do I need to pre-order food at After Dark?

With the new year came many new faces to RBG’s Food and Beverage team, all working to support the multiple events we’re hosting this winter. By knowing how many guests will be dining at After Dark, we can better prepare our teams for each night’s crowds, and avoid contributing to food waste by over-ordering ingredients. Under the Canopy’s exhibit highlights how so much of what we consume connects directly to the rainforest — by taking a sustainable approach to curb food waste, we are supporting the health of these vital ecosystems.

If I pre-order food, will I be given a strict reservation time?

Canopy platters are served within the first hour of your timeslot. Guests are encouraged to head to the restaurant at their leisure.

Note: Table availability is based on capacity, so there is a chance that you are not immediately seated at peak times. The casual structure of After Dark allows for easy crowd flow and short wait times — make the most of the extra minutes to find your favourite part of the exhibit, grab a drink for a round of trivia, or just take in the After Dark atmosphere.

A valid I.D. is required for beverage purchase.

Outside food and drink is not be permitted.
