Horticultural Therapy PD and Outreach

Upon completion of the Horticultural Therapy certificate program, students have the knowledge needed to practice horticultural therapy confidently and competently, knowing how to use horticultural therapy programming to meet the needs of individuals to improve their quality of life.

About Horticultural Therapy

Horticultural Therapy programs use plants and gardening to enhance emotional, physical and mental well-being. It is part of the therapeutic repertoire used by hospitals, nursing homes, and community, rehabilitative and mental health centres. The Gardens has been offering training in horticultural therapy techniques since 1970, and we also offer outreach programs to institutions around the greater Golden Horseshoe area.

Upcoming Programs:

We offer seasonal programming here on-site at Royal Botanical Gardens. See rbg.ca/publicprograms (under the "health and wellness" section) for a list of upcoming programs and registration links.
