Plein Air in Watercolour
One of RBG’s Courses & Workshops
Learn the basics of Plein Air painting using watercolour media, by joining us for a two-day course, introducing the materials, equipment, and techniques used in Plein Air painting, on the beautiful grounds of the Royal Botanical Gardens. This course will cover choosing your subject matter, composing a strong image, simplifying shapes for a dynamic composition, using effective colour schemes, and an overview of techniques to create sparkling and vivid effects. If you have a solid knowledge base of watercolour basics, join us for a fun and informative weekend that can take your landscape painting to the next level.

Julie Donec is a contemporary Canadian artist producing realistic portraiture and landscape images in watercolour and oil mediums. An award-winning artist for over 20 years, she has had sold out solo exhibitions in Ontario, and group shows in the U.S. and Europe. Julie attended Emily Carr School of Art and Design, receiving a scholarship to study in Florence, Italy, inspiring her life-long interest in spiritual and allegorical imagery.
