The Canadian Botanical Conservation Network (CBCN) is a national network to promote the conservation of plants and the sustainable use of biological resources, based largely among the botanical gardens and arboreta across Canada.

The purpose of CBCN is to assist the botanical gardens, arboreta and other organizations interested in enhancing their capacity to participate in in situ (in natural settings) and ex situ (in gardens) plant conservation efforts and biodiversity programs. The objective of the network is in support of biodiversity initiatives of the federal government for implementing the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Canadian Biodiversity Strategy.

For more information about CBCN, visit www.rbg.ca/cbcn or contact: David A. Galbraith, Ph.D., Coordinator, Canadian Botanical Conservation Network.
