Student Host of the Environment (SHOE) program
Concerned about the environment and wondering “what can I do to help make Canada a healthier place to live?” Volunteer at Royal Botanical Gardens and participate in various activities that support the mandate of exploring the relationship between people, plants and the environment. Your efforts will contribute to sustainable biodiversity and strategies that help cope with long-term effects of climate change. Contact the Nature Centre or call 905-527-7962. Download flyer.

CBCN FOR KIDS (ages 8 to 14)
Canadian Botanical Conservation Network, a network of people and places in Canada that conserve plant diversity, has put together the Botanist In Training Program so kids can learn about plants in Canada, complete experiments and find out what they can do to make a difference.

RARE PLANTS IN ONTARIO
Plants - what would our world be without them? All we have depends on these green marvels, for only they are able to capture and store the sun's life-giving energy in a form that other living things can use. Learn about Ontario's endangered species and what Canada is doing to protect plants.
