Ryszard Litwiniuk
Open concept – Roots
This work uncovers something important hidden inside the wood. The truth is always inside, creative and powerful, with its potential energy, mathematical rules and possibilities of transformation.

Bio: Ryszard Litwiniuk (Canada)
Ryszard Litwiniuk’s sculpture stands out among those of his contemporaries for its ingenious relocation of nature. Not only does nature figure as the source for all his sculpture, and is a metaphor that builds and grows out of his sculptures, it is likewise the casing or container for the strange mechanical looking or organic structures that literally grow in ever-smaller units or sections of these enigmatic sculptures.

Litwiniuk studied at the Secondary School of Arts in Poland as well as the Academy of Fine Arts where he received his Master’s Degree in Fine Arts. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally in Canada and in Poland. The winner of Second Prize at the Bienal Internacional de Escultura in Argentina, among many other awards of distinction, Litwiniuk is a sculptor for whom nature is the force and source out of which built structures grow.
