Botanical gardens across North America are cooperating on plant conservation issues. In 2007 leading networks of botanical gardens cooperated to produce the North American Botanic Garden Strategy for Plant Conservation.
The North American strategy is a regional approach to the conservation of plant diversity using the capacities and opportunities represented by botanical gardens and arboreta.
