The
Cootes to Escarpment Park System:
A
Conservation and Land Management Strategy
A Stakeholder Advisory Committee is essential to development of the Cootes to Escarpment Strategy. We therefore formed a Stakeholder Advisory Committee early on to help formulate this conservation and management strategy.
Responsibility of Stakeholder Advisory Committee Members
RBG and the project partners sought individuals to help define the issues and develop a course of action for the conservation and management of the public and non-profit owned natural lands. It was essential that each stakeholder could:
Speak as a
citizen of the community or on behalf of their interest group;
Stakeholder meetings have been in the evening except for one full day meeting and one full day study area tour, both on Saturdays. The first meeting was held on January 29, 2008. Our final meeting under the present project was held on 22 April 2009. We have greatly appreciated the input from the stakeholder Advisory Group in the first two years of the project. The Steering Committee extends its thanks for their interest, candor and opinions.
