Every year at RBG we celebrate an ecological theme, and this year that theme is Cycles! Cycles can be found everywhere in nature, and influence our own behaviour every day. Life cycles, water cycles, nutrient cycles, population cycles, decomposition and even recycling abound in the natural world, and affect everything from the smallest particle to the largest tree. Without the countless cycles of nature, the human life cycle would cease to exist. So come to RBG and learn about the cycles that hold us together!
Take the Cycles Challenge!
In honour of this year’s theme, we have installed 16 feature displays that explore the cycles of RBG. The displays are spread across our property, so it takes an intrepid adventurer to find them all! Print a copy of our map and guide or pick one up when you arrive, and try to hunt down each and every one.
When you find each display, be sure to answer its corresponding question on the back of the guide. Once you have all the answers, submit them online or by mail a chance to win our grand prize! All entries must be submitted by October 15 (only one entry per person). If you wish to mail your answers to us, send them to: The Cycles Challenge, Royal Botanical Gardens, Box 399, Hamilton ON, L8N 3H8
